What happens when you drop into a world filled with prehistoric apex predators, armed with absolutely nothing but your bare fists and a dream?
You make a club, of course. And then you start clubbing junk.
In our latest Xbox gameplay video, we are throwing logic out the window and embracing the pure, unadulterated chaos of the early game in ARK: Survival Evolved. If you’ve ever wanted to see what happens when a survivor decides that a wooden club is the answer to all of life’s problems, this is the episode for you.
The Master Plan (Or Lack Thereof)
We’ve all been there. You spawn in on the beach, a Dilo is spitting blinding venom at your face, and a Raptor is sprinting toward you from the tree line. Most reasonable people would run, build a thatch hut, or craft a spear.
Not us.
In this video, we test the absolute limits of the humble wooden club. From knocking out unsuspecting Dodos to making some seriously questionable tactical decisions against things way outside our weight class, it’s a montage of hilarious fails, lucky knockouts, and a whole lot of running for our lives.
Why the Early Game Grind is the Best
There is something incredibly nostalgic and chaotic about the first few days on the Island. Before you have the high-tech tek armor, the massive bases, and a fleet of Rexes, you have raw survival instinct.
