Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! Today we are tackling one of the most white-knuckle, heart-pounding challenges in *The Crew 2*: the **Low-Altitude Canyon Challenge**, captured straight from the Xbox Series X.
If you’ve played *The Crew 2*, you know it’s not just about hypercars and street racing. The flight mechanics offer an incredible rush, especially when you ditch the open skies and force yourself into the tight, jagged corridors of America’s grandest canyons.
### The Objective: How Low Can You Go?
The rules of this self-imposed challenge are simple but brutal:
1. **Maintain maximum speed** through the winding canyon floor.
2. **Stay below 15 feet (approx. 4.5 meters)** from the ground/river level.
3. **No clipping walls.** One wrong twitch of the analog stick means an instant, fiery reset.
For this run, I buckled into the **Zivko Edge 540 V3**, an absolute beast of an aerobatic plane known for its razor-sharp handling and instant roll response. When you’re banking at 90 degrees inside a gap that’s barely wider than your wingspan, you need a plane that listens to your exact inputs.
### Breaking Down the Run
The video kicks off right as we dive into the northern mouth of the canyon. The first stretch is deceptively wide, letting us build up a massive speed multiplier. But within twenty seconds, the canyon walls aggressively close in.
* **The S-Curves:** Around the 1-minute mark, you’ll see a series of tight S-curves over a rushing river. The trick here is mastering the **knife-edge pass**. By tilting the plane completely sideways, we minimize our horizontal profile, squeaking past jutting rock formations with literally inches to spare.
* **The Blind Crest:** Just past the midway point, the canyon makes a sudden upward elevation change. You can’t see what’s on the other side until you’ve cleared the ridge. Trusting the line and staying low through the blind crest was easily the most terrifying part of the entire run.
* **The Finish:** We exited the canyon into the open desert plains, clocking a continuous low-altitude streak of over 2 minutes!
### Tips for Xbox Players
If you’re trying to replicate this or beat my time on your Xbox controller, here are a few quick tips:
* **Adjust your Deadzones:** Go into your controls menu and lower your steering/pitch deadzones. You need immediate response times for low-altitude flying.
* **Use Extreme Controls:** Hold down the Extreme Control button (X by default on Xbox) to pull off sharper, more aggressive banks when navigating tight corners.
* **Watch your Throttle:** It’s tempting to hold down RT the whole time, but slightly feathering the throttle during blind transitions can give you those precious milliseconds needed to adjust your trajectory.
