If you’ve ever loaded up the legendary Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels expansion, you know it’s less of a traditional racing sim and more of a playable, adrenaline-fueled fever dream. We are talking massive loop-de-loops, booster pads that launch you into the stratosphere, and giant mechanical dinosaurs towering over the Horizon festival.
But amidst all the crazy stunts, sometimes it’s the fundamentals—like a massive, high-speed left turn suspended hundreds of feet in the air—that will completely make or break your race.

Watch the Gameplay: Holding the Line
When you are screaming down an orange plastic straightaway at 200+ mph in a Twin Mill or a Bone Shaker, hitting a sudden left turn can go sideways real fast.
Pro-Tip: The physics on the Hot Wheels tracks hit a bit differently. Because of the extreme elevation and curved tracks, understeer is your biggest enemy. If you don’t set up your entry line early, you’re going straight over the edge and plunging into the ocean below.
3 Steps to Master the Hot Wheels Left Turn

Tap the Brakes Early: Don’t rely purely on drifting. The orange tracks can be surprisingly slick. Brake before you initiate the turn to settle the car’s weight.

Hug the Inner Wall: On a massive left-hand bank, you want to fight the centrifugal force pulling you right. Force your car down to the inside line.

Power Out of the Apex: Once your nose is pointed left and clearing the apex, hammer the throttle to hit the next speed boost pad.
The Hot Wheels expansion remains one of the absolute peaks of the Forza Horizon franchise. Pulling off a flawless, high-G left turn without scraping the guardrails is easily one of the most satisfying feelings on the Xbox.
